Who we are
This website is operated by Everest Roof Repairs and Painting, trading as Everest Gutter Cleaning (ABN 57 691 083 128), a gutter cleaning and roof maintenance business operating across Greater Sydney, New South Wales.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a quote request, we collect the details you type into the form:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your suburb or postcode
- The type of property and the service you need
We ask for a phone number rather than an email address because we quote and book by phone. You do not need to provide an email address to get a quote.
Information collected automatically
When you submit the form, our server also records:
- The page you submitted the form from, and the website that referred you, if any
- The date and time of your enquiry
- A one-way hashed version of your IP address. We store the hash, never the address itself. It exists solely to stop automated systems flooding the form, and it cannot be reversed to identify you or your location.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Call you back and give you a price
- Arrange and carry out the work you ask for
- Keep a record of jobs quoted and completed
- Protect the form from spam and abuse
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list from a quote request.
Who else handles your information
Running this website means a small number of service providers process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — stores enquiry records in a database hosted in Sydney, Australia
- Vercel — hosts the website and serves its pages
- Resend — delivers the internal email that alerts us to a new enquiry
These providers act on our instructions and may process or store data outside Australia. We do not give them permission to use your information for their own purposes.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not track you across other websites. The only cookies set are the ones required to keep our own staff signed in to the private admin area, which are not set for ordinary visitors. If we introduce analytics later, we will update this policy and this page will say so.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for 2 years from the date of your enquiry, so we have a history of quotes given and work done. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
How we protect it
Enquiry records are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible. Access is restricted to our own staff accounts, which require a password to sign in. Data travels between your browser and our servers over an encrypted connection.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your details from our records
Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we are not handing your information to someone else.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
